For quite some time now, I’ve been thinking of starting a more photography oriented blog — one for the general public as well as friends and family. I even went so far as to purchase a domain back in March.

Well — about two weeks ago, www.digitalnotions.net went live, and so far I’ve had a lot of fun. It may not be of interest to all of you, but those who like photography / web design might enjoy reading. It’s all my opinion and my photos — and while I don’t think I’m a lousy photographer, I’m no Ansel Adams or Galen Rowell.

So, if you have a few minutes, go ahead, check it out and leave a comment if you like!

In order to have the whole family capable of bird watching, we decided that the cat needed a place of her own (for bird watching of course). At first, she was a bit leery of it. Then she realized that she could see out the window and she spent the next two hours just staring out the window. So I think we were successful on that front!

On the bird watching front, we now have a resident Downy Woodpecker who is frequenting our feeder. While we really do find him fun to watch, he’s a picky eater. He will grab any seed that isn’t a black sunflower seed and throw it on the ground. While this behavior is cute at first, after a few minutes you can see that the seed level in the feeder has gone down noticeably.

In the second photo, you can actually see him with a flying seed in the background! It’s quite impressive how fast he can sort seed.

Hope you’re all having as much fun as we are!
